Group Homes

Community Living Manitoulin operates four group homes, each offering a different level of individualized support. All of the homes provide training in life skills and activities of daily living. The homes offer individuals a relaxed home setting with opportunities to participate in social and community activities of their choosing.

The homes provide an atmosphere that supports and maintains friendship, interdependence, mutual support, respect, and understanding.

Personal care is provided in a respectful and unobtrusive manner to individuals who require it, and staff are trained to assist with any medical needs.

Some of the individuals served in the group homes may have behaviour concerns and may require additional support with anger management and finding constructive ways of expressing oneself. A behaviour support team works to plan and support these individualized needs.

Overall care is provided on an individual basis and meets the needs outlined in an individual’s Life Plan.

In order to assist the residential program, the group homes have access to seven vehicles, including two wheelchair accessible vans. These are available for appointments and community outings.
