COMMUNITY LIVING MANITOULIN IN SEARCH OF NEW BOARD DIRECTORS
Community Living Manitoulin (CLM) would like to invite you to support our mission by joining the CLM Board of Directors. The Agency is looking to fill multiple positions on the Board.
“At Community Living Manitoulin we advocate, promote and facilitate the full participation, inclusion and citizenship of individuals who have developmental challenges. Board members are vital to the success of an organization. CLM Board members provide governance oversight and possess an understanding of the Manitoulin community and a passion for inclusion and advocacy. Experience in Disability awareness/knowledge, finances and fund development is most welcome but not necessary.
Never sat on a board? CLM will provide third-party governance training to all new board members!

Retired Management
Pam was raised on Manitoulin Island. Joined the Board in 2016 and became President in September 2018
Pam has a varied skill set from a background of many years in accommodation management. She worked in the Alberta oilfields as a site manager in charge of large accommodation site, in charge of large workforce, budgeting multi-million operations, co-ordinated several accommodation sites, worked on road development and maintenance, developed and established security program, a satellite medical facility and fire department, risk mitigation planning, maintained focus on Health and Safety, developed Incident Command Team for the site, liaised with several large oil companies for safety, accommodation and area synergies.

Membership
Community Living Manitoulin is an association that is supported by a general membership. The general membership is comprised of people with an interest in supporting the work being done for people with developmental disabilities. Membership costs $10.00 annually and keeps you updated on current developments and policies affecting people with developmental disabilities, and entitles you to notices and newsletters; access to resource material and expertise; an open invitation to agency social events; and the opportunity to share your input on issues affecting the services for people with developmental disabilities. If Membership dues are paid by April 30th, a member becomes eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting. The Board of Directors is elected at the Annual General Meeting.

18 years of age
Not presently employed by Community Living Manitoulin
Not an immediate family member of someone employed by Community Living Manitoulin
Membership is for one year and runs from April 1st – March 31st. A strong membership is vital to the association’s ability to provide high quality programs and services, to the association’s ability to fundraise, and to sustaining the credibility of the association within the communities across Manitoulin Island. Adrienne Farquhar-Kuula
Adrienne joined the Community Living Manitoulin team in January 2022. She has dedicated her career to the health and developmental sectors. Adrienne brings experience in advocacy, collaboration, and leadership experience driven by a strong growth mindset.
As a Haweater, Adrienne was born and raised on Manitoulin Island. While growing up she spent countless hours on the beach on Providence Bay with her siblings and proudly shared this and all the other wonders of the Island with her husband, children and step children as they were being raised.
Adrienne feels blessed to have been able to return home to the Island while maintaining her career path of choice. “I feel a sense of deep contentment being able to do work that I love in a place that I love allowing me to grow and thrive within CLM towards a future full of possibilities”
Carol Fellin
Carol relocated from Acton, ON in 2022 and now resides in Manitowaning. With over 30 years administrative experience, Carol is dedicated to providing Community Living Manitoulin the service and commitment its staff and clients require.
During the week, you can find Carol processing payables for the company, fulfilling recruitment needs, or providing back up to the Payroll Department. Carol believes that by demonstrating respect, working as a team and focusing on performance, we are building a company we can be proud of.
Carol has proven to be a dependable team player since joining the organization in 2022 and enjoys feeling a part of the community. She believes that the best way to live her life to the fullest is by being kind, helping others, and living life through adventures and experiences.
Wendy Friesen
Wendy Friesen Manager of Community Services and Care Coordinator of Community Living Manitoulin.
She began working with CLM when she was given the opportunity to work at Hope Farm. Also, given the opportunity to be a part of the growth of the agency when new homes were built and institutions closed, enabling CLM to provide services to more individuals that were in need.
Wendy is passionate about her role within the agency and lives her life by this quote “There is no greater disability than the inability to see a person as more”. Robert M Hensel.
In her spare time, she is usually found at the board walk, on the beach, or painting, she has a love for the arts. Wendy loves to spend time with family and friends whenever she has spare time.
Megan Wickett
Megan Wickett is the Operations Manager at Community Living Manitoulin and has been with the company for over 10 years.
Megan has a great attention to detail and organizational skills that are truly appreciated at CLM.
When she is not completing payroll or other duties at CLM she loves to go on adventures with her family or curling up with a good book
Bonnie Closs
Bonnie Closs started her employment with CLM in January of 2000.
She began her journey at CLM as a part time employee, eventually moving on to become a Primary
Counsellor for over a decade. For the last 11 years she has been the Manager of Program and Services for Maple Terrace, Hope Terrace and Field House.
She is known for being an accountable, empathetic and honest person that people can rely on.
Her interests outside of work include spending quality time with her family, gardening and sailing.
Quote: You can’t have a garden and sail at the same time so my garden usually dies!
